From the Landsat mosaics, the classifications that result in land cover and land use maps are carried out for each year. Within the logic proposed by MapBiomas the maps will be updated every time an improvement in the classification algorithms is achieved. The classification methodology is dynamic and procedural, with the purpose of improving the classification of each typology.

Important: when composing a single mosaic or calculating statistics on maps it should be noted that:

For area calculation it is necessary to use an appropriate metric projection.
All data is in GeoTiff format and has LZW compression.
To obtain the reference of the codes with the classes acces: Legend codes.
The RGB color palette of each class is available in thisfile, and also for ArcMap(Level 1 and Level 2)
The annual maps are consolidated in a single file with several bands, where each band represents a year of the historical series (the 1st band corresponds to the first year of the series).
The international limits used by MapBiomas Bolivia are those prepared based on RAISG.

The most current MapBiomas Collection can always be accessed in three ways:

2. Download the Colection 1.0 from Land Cover and Land Use Map in GoeTiff format (one map for each year):

For the rest of the years (1985 to 2021), it is necessary to change the final year of the link.

  1. Download by country, department and any other desired geometry using Toolkit prepared in Google Earth Engine (GEE).
