Purpose: Cartographic tool to monitor land use changes and pressures on forests and natural ecosystems in Bolivia.

Update: A new set of land use and cover maps is released, improved and expanded every year.

Focus: Using remote sensing data, ecology, GIS and programming to produce annual maps from a specific period onwards.

Collaboration: Collaborative network between NGOs and research institutes.

Betterment: Continuous process of improving the quality of the maps, expanding the time period analyzed and increasing the number of mapped classes.

Collection 1.0 MapBiomas Bolivia

Begin and objective: It brings together specialists from various Bolivian ecoregions to map since 1985.

Main focus: Production of annual maps of land cover and use.

Collaboration: Involves NGOs and research institutes.

Annual Improvements: Annual data processing to improve the quality and temporal coverage of the maps.
